The Warriors follows a gang from Coney Island, New York as they head up to The Bronx for a meeting with all the other rival gangs in the city under a truce. But when Cyrus, the leader of New York's biggest street gang, is assassinated, The Warriors are wrongly accused and the truce is off. They must fight they're way back home with no weapons and every gang and cop in the city looking for them.
During the hazardous journey home, The Warriors encounter the baseball bat wielding Furies, the tough girl gang the Lizzies and the evil hoodlums who murdered Cyrus, the Rogues.
You know all this already right? Of course you do... surely you watched it on VHS as a kid? Yeah... relieve your mispent youth! For those who haven't a clue: This classic cult movie caused controversy when it first came out in 1979. Its brutal depiction of street gangs had never been seen before on the big screen and the film was blamed for a series of incidents in cinemas where it was shown.
Now 26 years on, writer and director Walter Hill (“Deadwood”, 48 Hours) has helped put together The Warriors Director's Cut Special Edition which includes several deleted/extended/re-edited scenes along with director’s commentary and conversations with cast and crew about the making of the movie. The new edition hits the shelves on 17th October.
